My New Tote Bag

So, I wanted to make a bag that I could fit everything in for church, especially since we started teaching the 13 and 14 year olds and I have to carry in a bunch of stuff. So, I came up with this idea in my head, sketched it out, sewed it last night, and I loved it so much I used it for school today! It's perfect. It's small enough that it doesn't get in the way, but big enough to carry everything I need. I also have the hardest time finding pens and my phone, so I sewed in 4 pen slots on the side, and 3 pockets on the other side to hold the little items I need (like my phone.) What do you think?

You can see my green zebra wallet that I'm using in the picture below.

I am so stinkin' excited I found this place!

One of my dreams is to design my own fabrics, and Spoonflower has now made it possible! I don't have anything designed yet, but it's wonderful to know that my dream can come true. They also sell other people's designs, which are awesome. It's a little pricey, but it's for quality, one-of-a-kind designs on fabric. LOVE IT!

Here are some samples of other people's designs:

These blue boxes are from the show "Doctor Who". It's cool.

So fun right!? I don't think I'll be as good, but I sure can try!

Life is Prettier with Zebra Stripes and Green

I decided I'm going to make only 5 of these, instead of just the one. This one I'm going to keep and use. It's all made out of canvas and is super duper durable! (... and adorable)

Ta Da!

Introducing my new wallet! It's still similar to what I had before, but instead it has twelve credit card slots (can hold up to two or three cards each), two cash pockets (one could hold your check book), and a zippered pocket on the back for change. I debated for a long time where to put the zippered pocket and I finally decided on the back, because when you put change away it's almost always after you've closed the wallet. I also sewed the bunting on. Hope you like it!

Aaaannnnndddd?

This is the project that has given me so much grief. I still have some tweaks to make to my pattern, but keep a lookout for new layouts and ... wait for it ... zippered pockets for coins! I'm really excited about all these changes. This cute clutch wallet will be going to my mother because I love her, and she needs a wallet that has lots of card slots. I'm not sold on everything I did here, but changes are a'comin, and they're going to be big and wonderful!

I've got some...

Good News!

I'm working on a whole new design layout for a wallet. It's going to be better for all those "wallet horders" out there (you know who you are) and would have 12 credit card slots (could hold 24 cards then), two cash pockets, a big pocket for a checkbook (or whatever), and a pocket with a zipper for change. It was going to be awesome.

Bad News.

Four hours into it and I realized I made a small mistake that actually turned out to be a really huge mistake and now I'm debating on whether or not I want to unpick the dang thing or just move on to a brand new one. It was going to be cute too, but I'm afraid that if I unpick the whole wallet it'll ruin the fabric. So now I'm tired and frustrated, and stuck with a deformed wallet. At this point I'll just deal with it in the morning...

Curse the World!
